Parade FAQ:

Q: Why are only high school clubs allowed to have a float?

A: There are multiple reasons we decided a few years ago to limit the parade to high school floats only:

  • Our growing community cannot support that many floats on our limited route - the last year it was open we had 42 floats - the parade was longer than the route!

  • Safety – due to the logistics of managing large trailers and trucks in the staging area (home football parking) it is necessary to limit the number of participants to ensure a safe environment for all involved.

  • Homecoming focuses on the high school game, and limiting floats to high school organizations allows us to really highlight the many clubs, sports, etc that our awesome high school offers – last year many high school clubs participated for the very first time!

  • There were no kids to throw the candy to!

Q: Last year our tailgating group didn’t get any candy! What about this year?

A: We realize that the back half of the parade did not get any candy. The students on the floats did not realize that there would be so many kids participating on the route, so they threw it out too fast, we are coaching the float sponsors to ensure that candy is saved for the entire route and remind their participants to reserve some candy for the end of the route!

Q: Will there be other restrooms available besides at the football field?

A: Yes – we are arranging for more restrooms at each area of the route.

Q: Can I choose the tailgating space for my team/club?

A: No – there are specific spaces along the route for tailgating and they are assigned based on the number of participants of the group, ages, etc. We will make all location decisions that are best for the flow of the parade and crowd control. We will do our best to make sure all groups are safe and enjoy every aspect of the parade!

Q: Will there be food at the parade?

A: There are some tailgating areas that will be bringing food to share with participants! You are also welcomed to bring food for your own group, but no grilling for liability reasons. There will NOT be a concession stand

Thanks for your participation and support of Brock Football and Brock High School! We are looking forward to another fun community event!
